We are currently in week 22 of our pregnancy. What exactly occurs during this week. The baby's sense of touch and taste will progress, the baby will soon recognize our voices, and the baby is currently 7.5 to 8 inches long.
The pregnancy is still going well. The belly is finally starting to show. I thought I would update the blog with a few recent baby bump photos from the past few weeks.

20 Week Ultrasound and Appointment
We had our 20 week ultrasound today. It was our first ultrasound where the baby actually looked like a human. I am happy to say things went well. The baby's brain development looked good. The heart appeared healthy and was beating at 141 bpm. And the baby had 10 fingers and 10 toes. What a blessing and relief that the baby seems healthy.
Some highlights of the ultrasound were how active the baby was. The baby would not stop moving around, making it pretty difficult for the technician. Garrett thought this was pretty cool. Garrett also liked getting to see the feet. However, I think for the both of us our favorite part of the ultrasound was when we saw the baby yawn. It came through very clear and almost in slow motion. It was an awestruck/amazing moment.
Other information from the ultrasound; the baby is around 9 oz or about half a pound. Also, many people keep asking if I can feel the baby move yet. Most books say this will occur around week 19. We found out in the ultrasound that the placenta is in front of the baby which means more cushion, so it will probably take me longer to feel the baby. Lastly, Garrett and I chose not to find out the sex of the baby. You will have to wait until the baby is born.
