Today Garrett and I had another ultrasound. The ultrasound stemmed from our last doctor's visit and the baby measuring too small. We are happy to report everything looked great. Yes, the baby is small but within an acceptable range. The baby is in the 25th-27th percentile for size. It currently weighs 4 lbs.

Some highlights from today’s ultrasound were:
• We were able to see that the baby has hair.
• The baby was breathing, yawning, and drinking amniotic fluid.
• The baby’s head is down. Yeah!!!

Week 33

We are approaching the end of week 33.  According to my book, during this week the baby should reach its ultimate birth weight.  The pupils of the eyes can now adjust to light.  And because the amniotic fluid is at maximum level, the kicks may be a bit uncomfortable.  I would say they have been a bit uncomfortable for a few weeks now. 

On Tuesday of this week, Garrett and I saw the doctor.  Everything checked out well, except I measured under where I should be.  I measured at I believe 31 cm when I should be at around 33 cm.  Almost an inch smaller than expected.  As a result, Garrett and I will be having another ultrasound Monday afternoon for them to measure the baby and make sure everything is going as expected.  The doctor didn't seem too worried.  He said most likely the baby is smaller because I am on the smaller side (we can hope).  Also, he thought that I probably carry the baby further back then most women.  If you could keep it in your prayers that everything checks out well we would appreciate it.

Week 32

We are currently in week 32.  Which means the little one now weighs about 4 lbs and is around 11.5 inches long, though if you could feel what the baby is doing to my ribs you would think he/she was much bigger.  During this week the baby is practicing sucking, swallowing, and breathing.

I would say I have begun the nesting stage.  I have the urge to want to go through everything in the house and start chucking stuff out.  I think I made pretty good progress with ridding the house of unnecessary cluttter.  A lot of thanks to my mom who came over last weekend and helped me.  We definately need to make room for all the baby stuff to come. 

Speaking of baby stuff, that is coming along as well.  Our crib and mattress arrived today.  I can't wait to set it up and see how it looks!  We first have to find out what to do with the bed currently sitting in its place.  We also have a stroller and carseat, two other big necessities. 

I have a feeling the next 8 weeks are going to fly by.  Our next doctor's appointment is Tuesday.  So I will try and post an update then.  Thanks for your prayers.
